Partnership with EC-Council

KnowledgeTree Training Centre Pte Ltd is pleased to announce their partnership with EC-Council from January 2020.

Managed by Wissen International Pte Ltd, the exclusive EC-Council distributor for specific countries in the Asia Pacific region, the partnership aims to provide EC-Council certified cyber security awareness training to staff at organisations to have the fundamental understanding of various computer and network security threats. One main objective of the partnership is to help organisations deal with the present-day cyber security threats by preparing staff of all levels to be able to play their part in the defence of cyber threats.

Through the partnership, KnowledgeTree will also be able to assist organisations to understand the threat vulnerabilities via users on their IT network through EC-Council’s OhPhish solutions and may extend the provision of cyber security training beyond the entry level.

Cyber threats on organisations in Singapore

In a poll conducted by US-based private cybersecurity provider, Carbon Black on 250 leaders and executives of companies in Singapore, 96% of them said that their organisation experienced cyber attacks previously1. In the Singapore Cyber Landscape 2018 report by the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore CSA, a total of 16,100 phishing URLs with a Singapore-link were observed in 2018. Government websites such as Ministry of Manpower (MOM), Singapore Police Force (SPF) and Immigration & Checkpoints Authority were commonly spoofed to steal personal and financial data2.

Cyber threats in the private security sector

The security industry is undergoing a phase of digitalisation ever since the Security Industry Transformation Map (ITM) was launched in 20183. As organisations in the industry move towards implementing technology in their security solutions, they may be making themselves more susceptible to cyber threats.
KnowledgeTree will work with Wissen International to engage the sector by promoting cyber security awareness and educate stakeholders in the industry to better create a robust cyber defence strategy against such attacks.
