Enhanced Basic Security Course (Requisite for Security Officer Licence Application)


The Enhanced Basic Security Course consists of three modules:

  •  Provide Guard and Patrol Services (PGPS)
  • Handle Security Incidents and Services (HSIS)
  • Recognise Terrorist Threats (RTT)

INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED THIS COURSE WILL ABLE TO:

  • Perform various guard and patrol duties that include clocking and visitor and vehicle management, etc.Watch out for suspicious security threats.
  • Perform basic standard situational procedure and protocols that security personnel would need to know once they enter the security industry.
  • Perform security duties in relation to terrorist threats and scenarios


Course Syllabus

Provide Guard and Patrol Services
  • Preparing work activities
  • Guarding static position
  • Handling telephone calls and lost-and-found properties
  • Patrolling premises
  • Making reports and hand over duties

 

Recognise Terrorist Threats


  • Identify person-borne threats
  • Identify vehicle-borne threats
  • Identify object-based threats
Handle Security Incidents and Services
  • Containing incidents of damage to facilities and equipment
  • Handling fire-related incidents
  • Handling crime-related incidents
  • Handling medical or first-aid related incidents
  • Handling bomb or IED (Improvised Explosive Device) threat incidents
  • Searching, apprehending and arresting suspect
  • Giving evidence in court

 


Asssessment

  • Assessment will be conducted by an independent assessor (examiner) from *POLWEL (*Police Welfare Co-operative)
  • Assessment format : Role-Play and Oral Questions
  • Assessment duration for Provide Guard and Patrol Services (PGPS) is 2 hours.
  • Assessment duration for Handle Security Incidents and Services (HSIS) is 2 hours and 5 minutes.
  • Assessment duration for Recognise Terrorist Threats (RTT) is 2 hours.
  • Trainees will be assessed for module separately, upon completion of each module.

Training Duration

  • PGPS : 2 Training Days + 1 Day Assessment
  • HSIS : 3 Training Days + 1 Day Assessment
  • RTT: 2 Training Days + 1 Day Assessment
  • Standard Course Timing: 0830hrs to 1730hrs (Monday to Friday
